Planned Giving
Planned gifts are generally made from a donor’s estate and can offer a number of advantages. Bequests are the most common type of planned gift, but through our partnership with the Oregon Community Foundation, BBBS of Lane County can accept a number of complicated planned giving opportunities, including charitable remainder trusts, life insurance gifts, and life estates.
Give through your Will
For many donors, giving through their will is easy and provides opportunities to give larger gifts than normally possible. Bequests and other testamentary gifts can take many forms, including naming Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lane County and/or the Patrick McCurdy Education Foundation as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or insurance policy. Leaving a gift in your will is easy to arrange and offers the same choices as making a cash contribution. Please visit the Oregon Community Foundation website at http://www.oregoncf.org/ for information on “how to establish a fund”, or contact them at (503)227.6846. If you plan to benefit either of these organizations through a provision in your will, please notify us. We would be proud to immediately begin honoring your charitable intent.
For examples of language to use in your will or to discuss making a gift after your lifetime, contact us at (541)344-0833 or email.
